You are about to take part in a high risk activity. You will minimise this risk by following the safety rules and advice in the Mountain Biker’s Responsibility Code. If you don’t follow the safety rules and advice you could have a serious accident which could be fatal.
Hire bikes are assessed by a qualified mechanic prior to being hired but please make sure that you follow the Mountain Bikers Checklist for your own safety (please request a copy if you are not familiar with it), and assess your bike before riding and regularly during your ride.
Rental period
The rental period starts on the agreed start date and ends on the agreed end date
shown at checkout. Products must be returned by the stated return time.
Payments and deposit
All rental charges, delivery or collection charges, and service fees are payable at the
time of booking. A fixed £50 security deposit is required for each order. The deposit
is refundable after the products are returned in satisfactory condition, subject to the terms below.
EBike Power Modes
To maximise your riding experience we strongly recommend keeping the e-bike riding modes in ECO and TRAIL, and only using BOOST occasionally this is to preserve the battery life. Only use BOOST when the trail becomes extremely steep, this reduces the risk of running out of power while out on the trails.
Security
Bikes must not be left unattended at any time unless locked securely. Overnight hire is not permitted, bikes must be returned to Oneplanet Adventure at the end of each day and hire bikes must not leave Coed Llandegla Forest at any time.
Bike Specification
Although we endeavour to keep bike specs as close to possible as stock, we cannot guarantee they will be exactly as displayed on our website. If there is a particular spec feature you would like on your bike please call us on 01978 751656 to confirm.
Children
Children aged 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times (including on the trails), no adult, no ride, no refund! If a booking is made for a person under the age of 17 you must notify Oneplanet Adventure as soon as you book, notifying us of who will be accompanying them. Please note, our smallest hire bike is suitable for persons of 5ft and over.
Use of helmets
Helmets are mandatory, a free helmet is offered with every hire bike, if you have your own, and so long as it exceeds the required British Standard, you are welcome to use that. You must always wear either your own or hired helmet whilst riding a hire bike.
Unregulated rental agreement
When you place a rental order, you enter into an unregulated rental agreement with OnePlanet Adventure, facilitated by Renticy. This is not a credit agreement, hire purchase, or regulated financial product. The products remain the property of OnePlanet Adventure at all times.
Use of products
Products are provided for personal use only unless otherwise agreed. You are
responsible for ensuring the products are suitable for your needs and that you know how to use them safely and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Condition, loss and damage
You are responsible for the products during the rental period. If products are returned damaged, excessively dirty, or requiring professional cleaning, a fair charge will be made to cover repair or cleaning costs. These costs may be deducted from the £50 deposit. If the cost of damage or loss exceeds the deposit, you will be liable for the full retail value of the products.
Late returns
If products are returned late, a daily rental charge will apply for each day overdue, for up to seven days. If products are not returned after seven days, you will be charged the full retail value of the products. Any deposit paid will be retained and deducted from the amount owed.
Returns
Products must be returned to the original collection location, or made available for
collection if delivery was selected. Failure to return products as agreed may result in
additional charges and recovery action.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made via email to hello@oneplanetadventure.com to ensure both parties have a record of the event. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the rental start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental start date are non refundable.
OWNit try before you buy
Some rentals may be offered with a trial period that allows you to use the products
before deciding whether to buy them. There is no guarantee or automatic right to
purchase the products. Any option to buy is offered separately and entirely at the
discretion of OnePlanet Adventure under a separate purchase agreement. Rental
charges and deposits do not count towards ownership.
Liability
You are responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of the products,
except where caused by OnePlanet Adventure’s negligence. Neither OnePlanet
Adventure nor Renticy is responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Nothing
limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Payments and chargebacks
Payments are taken by debit or credit card and will appear as Renticy on your
statement. Chargebacks may result in an additional administration fee.
Data and governing law
Your personal data is processed in line with UK data protection law. These rentals
are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the
courts of England and Wales.
